Israeli archaeologists have discovered in east Jerusaelem, next to the old city of David, the massive walls of a protective passageway which led to the hill fortress of Jebus (leader of the biblical Jebusites of Canaan) from the Gihon spring below, the hill fortress which was eventually taken from the Jebusites when the Hebrews began to move in circa 1400 B.C., then established as the permanent israeli capital by King David circa 1000 B.C., when the ousted Jebusites disappeared from the pages of history.

The ancient egyptians (from the Tell Amarna Letters) knew the city of Jebus as Ur u’ salem, the name which apparently the hebrews knew the city when they arrived from Egypt circa 1400 B.C., and the bronze age Mari cuneiform tablets from Amorite territory (circa 1800 B.C.), just to the northeast, refer to the city as Yabusi’ um (after king Jebus), so that was certainly what would become the City of David, Jerusalim, which obviously was a very important canaanite city-state hill fortress centuries before the Hebrews arrived led by Joshua.

So who are the rightful heirs to Jerusalem, the Jebusites or the Hebrews?  The Palestinians (namesake of the Philistines by Alexander the Great) obviously have no right to the land, the Philistines lived in Gaza, Ekron, and other coastal towns near Egypt, so that PLO stuff is just nonsense in an historical sense, with the Jebusite ruins in Jerusalem there to prove it.  And do the Palestinians know that they were named after the Philistines who were defeated by the Israelis and disappeared from the pages of history, so can they trace their lineage back to the Philistines to prove their label?  Even if they could, it’s the Jebusites, wherever they might be, who could actually claim Jerusalem with some sense of legitimacy, however which would violate God’s promise to Abraham.

Abraham may have vistied Ur u’ salem (which was probably the Salem of Melchizidek), over five hundred years before the Exodus of some of his progeny out of Egypt, as we must remember, Abraham sired progeny with other wives, who became tribes to the east in Arabia and beyond, and Abraham was a master of science, no doubt privy to the method by which the length of the hebrew cubit was determined, the same cubit used by the egyptians, chaldeans, pelasgians, hindus, and canaanites alike, by the stars actually, explained in article #2 at http://IceAgeCivilizations.com.
