Reacting to presidential candidate Michelle Bachmann’s position that the national debt ceiling should not be raised, David Plouffe, strategist for president Obama, says predictably that it would harm the economy defaulting on debt, but who says we’d have to default with a static debt ceiling?  We’ll have to cut spending significantly, but that needs to be done anyway, so Bachmann’s right, while Plouffe and Obama seek to continue spending the u.s. into national oblivion, monetizing the debt, causing inflation, the great hidden tax affecting most the poor, supposedly those whom Obama seeks to help, a big lie.

How cold was it during the ice age, ten degrees, twenty degrees colder than today?  I really haven’t noticed much data at all about how much colder the experts (to some) think it was, for they at least subconsciously yet intuitively might be realizing that if the arctic (or antarctic) had been even colder during the ice age, even less snow then would have fallen there, deserts in terms of annual precipitation today, rendering the colder ice age notion specious.

But snow did fall and accumulate in copious amounts during the ice age, building to thousands of feet of depth on much of Europe and North America, so what’s up with that, was it not colder for all that snowfall far to the south of the arctic during the ice age?  The summers were in fact “colder,” less heat from the sun during the summer, because of the dense year ’round cloudcover of the ice age, a shield from the sun in the summer, having produced precipitation year ’round, snow having fallen and accumulated in winter, much less of it melted off during the summer.
