Canaanite Phoenician Berber Moors Atlantis Atlantean Bronze Age Morocco Roman Mauritania Herodotus Amazons Amazigh Diodorus Sicilus Barbaros Language Barbarians Semitic Berbers Language Speakers Greek Homer History North Africa Holocene Biblical Aqualithic Ice Age Civilizations

Remembering that Plato said Atlantis, the maritime empire, extended far outside the Pillars of Hercules (Gibraltar), and inside as far as the Tyrhian Sea (Italy) and Libya, so it was the sea level rise with the end of the ice age which caused the demise of Atlantis, and many other coastal cities in the Mediterranean and elsewhere (see category Submerged Ruins), and therefore, that ancient historians besides Plato called the people of the Atlas region the Atlantes lends credence to that Atlas was a son of Posidon, according to greek “mythology,” who but was Sidon in the bible, a son of Canaan, son of Ham (Yam, Cham, or Khem), son of Noah, and the ice age ended at the time of the Exodus, as bears out the evidence (see category Catastrophic Climate Change, and note particularly the hydrology for the ice age).

The greek historian Homer circa 700 b.c. said that the Carians of mediterranean coastal Turkey spoke Barbaros,  common then he said in Asia and north Africa, the language of the Berbers of Morocco, same name, Berber, Barbar, barbarians to the greeks, yet great navigators those Carians, having sailed to the Caribbean (their namesake) to have founding Carioca, now known as Rio de Janeiro.  And this all clearly related to the Atlantean Empire, with the linkage of the Amazons who were named after Maza, the moon goddess, the principal religion of the Berbers today, who were known too as the Amazigh, having spoken semitic canaanite, probably assisted by the Pelasgians (line of Shem) in the distribution of settlement and cultures during the ice age and after, when the Amazons made their big thrust to the western hemisphere and to the southern shores of the Black Sea because the Triton Sea, their homeland during the bronze age (which was the ice age) began to dry up becoming part of the Sahara.
