St. Anselm Republican New Hampshire Primary Debate John McCain on Illegal Immigration Says “States Will Certify Borders are Secure” as Arizona Senator McCain Ignores Plight of American Workers

John McCain’s home state Arizona is passing laws to penalize employers of illegal immigrants, while McCain sits there at the St. Anselm debate as I watch, never mentioning the employer sanction initiatives back in Arizona at all.  Has he not heard that news from the folks back home?  All he says now about illegal immigration is that he’ll “get the states to certify that the borders are secure,” whatever that’s supposed to mean, who’s that supposed to impress, and how are they to achieve such, and why doesn’t he talk about the main problem, that unscrupulous businesses who hire illegal aliens are magnets for these illegal immigrants, the people of Arizona know it, so why is McCain so far out of the loop on this, doesn’t he read the papers from back home?

The legal workers in America are insulted by McCain’s cavalier attitude toward the illegal immigration situation.  He said he “got the message” on this, but he obviously hasn’t, and seems to think the American people are too stupid to know that he’s totally blowing hot air with his “border security” rap, such nonsense, certainly not presidential timber.  But Rudy Giuliani is strong again in the debate, as always in these debates, he has great intellect, knows the issues inside and out, and is on the correct side of almost all of them, even pledging to appoint strict constructionist Supreme Court Justices.
